The latest editions of the North-South and South-North guides
include new routes:
Sections 3 and 4 (north-south) or G and H (south-north) now go via
Crouch House Green (near Edenbridge) instead of Haxted Mill.
Section 6 (north-south) or section E (south-north) now goes via
Quarry Wood & Perryman's Lane (avoiding a landslip north of High
Hurstwood).
Any other major alterations will be added here if and when necessary
during the currency of the latest editions.
At 10.1e (north-south) & A(10.3a) (south-north), a substantial
landslip has occurred beside the beach at Cuckmere Haven, and it is
not currently possible to continue along the VGW past the Cable Hut.
It is still possible to walk down as far as the landslip to see the
beach but you will then have to retrace your steps for 70m to
continue across grass. The beach can still currently be
reached by clambering a short distance down boulders, but this too
may be closed while repairs are being done.
